Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions govern your access to and use of Nexus Study ("Nexus", "we", "our", or "us"), including its web application and any associated browser extensions or services. By creating an account or continuing to use Nexus, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.

Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Nexus. By creating an account, you confirm that you are 13 or older and that the information you provide is accurate and complete. If you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you represent that your parent or guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf.

Account registration

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account, and agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms. You may not share your account with others or use another person's account without permission; access codes and entitlements are non-transferable unless explicitly stated otherwise.

Acceptable use

You agree not to use Nexus for any unlawful purpose; attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract source code from the platform; scrape, harvest, or systematically download content in bulk; upload or transmit content that is defamatory, obscene, or infringes third-party rights; circumvent or interfere with security features; use AI features to generate or submit academic work as your own in violation of your institution's academic integrity policies; or create multiple accounts to abuse free tiers, credits, or promotions.

Intellectual property

All content on Nexus — including question banks, AI-generated explanations, course materials, software, designs, and logos — is the property of Nexus or its licensors. You're granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use content solely for personal, non-commercial study. Content you create using Nexus Studio (custom courses, quizzes, flashcards) remains yours; by creating it on Nexus you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, and display it as necessary to provide our services.

Payments and subscriptions

Nexus offers both free and paid tiers. Paid access is processed securely through Stripe, and by purchasing you also agree to Stripe's Terms of Service. All purchases are final; we do not offer refunds except where required by law, or at our discretion in cases of technical failure attributable to Nexus — contact us within 7 days of purchase if you believe you're entitled to one. Subscription plans auto-renew unless cancelled before the renewal date; access continues until the end of the current billing period.

AI features

Nexus uses AI to power features including the AI Tutor, question generation, and study plan suggestions. AI-generated content is provided for educational guidance only, may contain errors, and should not be relied on solely for high-stakes academic or professional decisions. Usage of AI features may be subject to fair-use limits based on your plan, and we log AI interactions to improve our models — see our Privacy Policy for details.

Academic integrity

Nexus is a study aid designed to help you learn. It is your responsibility to use Nexus in compliance with your educational institution's academic integrity policies. We do not condone using our platform to cheat, plagiarize, or commit academic dishonesty.

Warranty and liability

Nexus is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, and we do not guarantee the platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that results obtained through it will be accurate or reliable. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Nexus and its affiliates are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the platform, and our total liability to you for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to Nexus at any time, with or without notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms. You may delete your account at any time by contacting support. Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination will do so.

Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you by prompting for re-acknowledgement in the application. These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada, and any disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ontario, Canada.
